Description
CRC 6000-line Hydrophobic Coatings are solid dispersion of fluorocarbon polymers and aliphatic, moisture-cure, two-part polyurethane that creates a hard film with superior UV-resistance and long-term water repellency. CRC 6000-line is used primarily on radomes and satellite dishes to prevent water film from building up and hindering radio signals.
Hydrophobic Properties
CRC 6000 was designed to create a high contact angle (140+ degrees) for water droplets, allowing water to roll off and leave a perfectly dry surface. CRC 6000 thus minimizes signal attenuation, especially at 44 GHz and 21GHz, that traditionally results from surface water accumulation.
Other Benefits
CRC 6000 provides excellent resistance to corrosion, abrasion, chemicals and impact, and is self-cleaning in most environments. CRC 6000 can be applied directly to most composite substrates, including DuPont Tedlar and reinforced epoxies.
Application
CRC 6000 can be applied by conventional air, airless or air-assisted airless spray methods. The coating can also be brushed or rolled onto small areas. The sprayed film will dry to the touch in 2 hours, and will be dry to handle in 6 hours at 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) and 50% relative humidity. CRC 6000 can also be force-dried for 15-20 minutes at 120 degrees F (49 degrees C). Because CRC 6000 is a moisture-cure polyurethane, some oven moisture is required for proper cure.
Color
CRC 6000 has a flat finish and is available in standard white, light gray, custom-color matches and Federal Standard and DuPont Tedlar-matched colors.

Field Repair Kits
CRC 6000-line Hydrophobic Coating Field Repair Kits are available in the two standard colors. The complete Field Repair Kit includes everything needed to apply the coating while in the field, including sandpaper, masking tape and solvent to prepare the surface, a half-pint of white or gray material, a small aerosol spray can, gloves, goggles and a disposable respirator. This is handy for repair with existing installations, or as an evaluation sample for new customers.
